I'm a Brazilian designer, born in Brasilia, Federal District. I focused my career on solving real people problems through Design eyes, participating in all parts of creating/improving a product, from research to visual and interaction design.

I believe that the design should have a strategic foundation to help the client’s business and the user needs, and I search for this balance everyday, studying the business and the context, building the strategy, helping the process of research and data analysis, creating concepts, and being hands-on when it comes to interaction and visual design.

I love working with simple and minimalist interfaces, always having in mind some basic principles of visual hierarchy, like balance, alignment, proximity, white space, and consistency.

Most recently, I moved to Belo Horizonte, Brazil, to work at Toro Investment, a fintech focused on making financial life simpler, more prosperous, and more enjoyable through the best digital investment experience.

As Lead Product Designer at Toro, I had two big challenges. The first was to improve the platforms for digital investments and to create new ways for people to invest in fixed income or variable income (stock market) in a simple and enjoyable way.

To reach this goal, we changed the market by redefining the concept of Home Broker. This way, users would not need to operate complex interfaces that resemble an airplane panel anymore but choose the best opportunity in a list of cards, so with a few clicks the user makes his first trade on the stock exchange or his investment in fixed income.

In addition, we believe financial education is important for good decision making. We produced interactive courses, and inserted knowledge pills in relevant moments of the product. In addition, we redesign de blog and wrote articles about the market.

We also created some landing pages about specific subjects as another strategy of our product. It helped us attract and convert leads to our platform.

The second big challenge at Toro was to manage the product design team. I was responsible for managing the product design process, conducting decisions, tracking problems, and assisting in the estimation of resource needs and schedules, as well as designing the interaction of a system, leading the product designers involved, recruiting, and retaining talents while promoting technical development of team members.

To achieve this, I performed some rituals with the team like one-on-ones (individual talks), Product Design meetings, co-creation sessions, and feedback sessions. We also promoted some internal workshops/meetups aimed at the technical evolution of the team.

Another important task was to create an IDP (Individual Development Program) to bring clarity about the possibilities of career development at Toro for Product Designers.

This has been a great opportunity to evolve other aspects of my career, like being a good listener, exposing my point of view in a transparent and efficient way, sharing knowledge at every possible moment, and learning in a different way.

I also had the opportunity to be part of the UX team of Globo.com, in Rio de Janeiro, one of the biggest media companies in Brazil, where I worked with the GloboEsporte.com team, focusing on improving the consumption of news and sports figures. After that, I joined CartolaFC, where I worked in the redesign of the game. Finally, I worked with the team responsible for Globo’s user identification platform. We focused on creating a great logged experience in their products.

It was the first time I had the opportunity to work with a huge team of designers with several great talents, trying to improve the consumption experience of thousands of people, including mine. No doubt, It was one of the most important experiences of my career.

2013  —  2014

In 2013, I moved to Manaus, Brazil, to work with the UX team of INDT - Nokia Technology Institute, a company focused on innovation and technology. There, I had the opportunity to work and to deepen my knowledge about mobile applications and products, mainly based on Nokia and Microsoft applications, platforms, and guidelines.

Besides that, it was a period of great personal learning. For the first time, I've been away from my family and childhood friends.

In other moments of my day, I guide students to understand the UX Design process at Awari, another great moment to share my knowledge and experience, and to learn.

This is a summary of my career, the main places I went through, the challenges I faced, and now I'm looking for new opportunities to facilitate people’s daily lives through enchanting digital experiences.
